Here in the Big Smoggy...

It's been a while since the last jump across, so I thought I'd give a quick update on how my life is now.

That is to say good, though a bit tedious of late.

First, the good part:
1. Totally great place to live in. Not much privacy, but I like all my roommates, and everything is sane and polite. It's a bit cold, and a bit far out from the bity centre, but it's worth it. And it's fuckin huge. We're throwing a Halloween party for upwards of 150 people. I stilt in my living room. Circus/juggling tricks are definetely improving because of it.

2. Friends! I haven't really settled into a social scene yet, but I have had a few great people to spend my time with, including Amria, Spirit, and Fava bean. Ah, these lovely ladies of my life, like some bright swirling constellation... I am blessed. Oh, and Draw is moving to the city TOMORROW. It'll be great having him around. I love him for his art/geekiness/humour, but I need him for my laptop. It didn't like the flgiht across, and won't even boot now. A $1000 paper weight, and I don't even have the cash to take it to the shop for repairs.

Tedious:
1. Being broke. Big big city, lots going on, no cash. Don't get me wrong, there is always lots to do without consuming, and I'm working on it (I also splurged for fuel, what's a fire spinner to do). Good thing I have my circus toys and friends with imaginations in the same situations.

2. The job hunt. I was working on a combined effort of modelling and temp office gigs. The modelling has been sporadic, and the temp gigs have given nothing (though I haven't pursued them that actively). I have an interview for industry work tomorrow being an Editorial Assistant for a trade magazine. It pays really well, seems stable, though it's all about Supply Chain Management, which is about as boring as it sounds. Chats with CBC and CTV are also on the go, though I don't know how promising they are. Basically, I'm waiting for that ship to roll on in.

I guess this comes down to a questions of motivation. Sometimes I'm so busy I hardly have a moment to unwind. Lately I've had so much time that I can hardly fill it (oh, I expect no sympathy). Here's to finding something in between, or getting more of my side-projects up and running (and maybe my laptop too).

the eagle has landed
it's great to know that you have arrived and are surrounded by positivity. I hope the rest falls into place for you very soon! I am heading back to California tomorrow, after being on the east coast with my insane family for a few weeks, and it sure will be great to be back where my friends know and love me. I appreciate the value of that so much right now.

Don't forget to eat well...

D.O. the T.O.
I can't wait to fly across and see your new digs. I always hate job hunting, but its worth finding the right fit. Amira and Draw are awesome so as long as you have them you'll be alright. I can point you towards some more Torontonian wierdos if you find yourself so inclined. ;)
